Afternoon Tea at Four Seasons

Four Seasons – Lobby Bar at Yorkville is one of my favorite spots for afternoon tea in Toronto.

Lobby Bar is an atrium adjacent to the lobby.  It is a great place for traditional afternoon tea. The tea selection is pretty standard but our waiter is knowledgeable and provides us with helpful recommendation.  The three-tiers display packs with tea cakes, scones , finger sandwiches, tarts and pastries.  The jams and lemon curd are perfect compliment to the warm scones.  I can’t wait to stuff my mouth piece after piece.

If you want to feel like a queen for the day, Four Seasons is one of the place to be.

Best Korean Restaurant – Korea House

Normally I like to list the top 3 to 5 of my favorite restaurant for each category.  However for the BEST Korean restaurant in Toronto, I don’t want to recommend any place other than – Korea House.

Authentic Korean food is what you get here. The spicy pork bone soup, short ribs and Bibimbab are some of my must order dishes.

Sirloin Steak

How to cook the prefect steak? Very easy.  Just lightly brush the steak with olive oil. Season with Barberian steak seasoning. Grill each side for two minutes. DONE.

Arepa Cafe

Saturday lunch at Arepa Cafe on Queen West. I have no idea what Arepa is.  I thought I’m going into a stylish sandwich shop but a quick glance of the menu on the wall makes me realize I’m about to try something new today.

Arepa is a grill corn meal sandwich.  Popular food in Spanish countries.  Extremely tasty and light.  The combination of roasted chicken, avocado and arepa is heaven.

Excellent food. Warm and cozy environment.  I will definitely go back.

Lucy Chadwick x Selby x ZARA Film

I’m a big fan of Selby.  His first book, The Selby is In Your Place, is one of my favorite photography book.

Here are my thoughts after watching the short film:

1) I want a home like that.

2) I want a life like that.

3) I really want a ZARA white shirt like that!

Rubik’s Cube Project

It always starts with a design.  To start this project, I know I need a design that looks good pixelated.  Any 8-bit video game character would be a good start, so I pick the Pacman Ghost.

Everything needs colors in their life. Color choices are very limited as I only have six colors to choose from a Rubik’s cube – blue, yellow, green, orange, red and white.

Searching for materials from Chinatown. Will need at least 20 rubric’s cube for this art project.

Feel Stupid. “Spent over an hour on solving ‘one side’ of the rubik’s cube. #ifeelstupid” – @mopiku, Twitter

Feel Smart. Learned the ins and outs of solving the Rubik’s cube now.  It’s all about algorithms and pattern.

Four days after. Glue all the cubes together and DONE!

It’s Movember

This year I join as Mo Sista to raise funds and awareness for men’s health.

Since I can’t grow a stache, I made some moustache brooches for the girls to wear.

Best Brunch in Toronto

There is nothing better than getting up way past noon and have breakfast in the afternoon (or brunch).  Mouth watering eggs, pancakes, waffles, bacon, salmon benny…

Here is a list of Mopiku’s favorite restaurants for brunch in Toronto.
