2012 Toronto restaurants wishlist

As I tried to compile my worldwide restaurant bucket list, I realized there were a lot of local restaurants I have not tried before. To extend my dining adventure, I put together a list of Toronto restaurants I want to try in 2012.

1. Yours Truly
Reason: New kid on the Ossington block.  Love their daily prix fixe menu.  Changes everyday.

NYC – Eleven Madison Park

Eleven Madison Park is probably the best fine dining restaurant in NYC now.  Ranked at #24 of The World’s 50 best restaurants in 2011.  The food is perfect, innovative and original.  The service is top notch. My boyfriend told them we were there to celebrate my 30th birthday.  Every staff that came over to our table all said ‘Happy Birthday’ to me and they gave me a hand written birthday card. A birthday card is a great touch already but hand written!? They just hit it out of the park. Around the fifth course of the meal, Chef Daniel Humm came out and greeted everyone at their tables. Every member of the Elven Madison Park team made a lot of effort to make their guests feel very welcome and special.  It was the greatest culinary experience I have ever had.

NYC – Momofuku

Went to New York City for 4 days to celebrate my birthday.  The first place we went to as soon as we got off the plane was Momofuku noodle bar.

Pork bun. Streamed buns + pork belly + pickled cucumbers + scallions. This was the best snack I have ever tasted in my life. The fatty pork belly really melted in my mouth.

Momofuku Ramen. Pork belly + pork shoulder + poached egg
